To make CLEAR/TRANSPARENT decals:
***
More detailed Instructions are included with the paper.
A) Print on the glossy side of the paper. In general
selecting the transparency setting in your printer driver gives the best
results. Our new IAS decal paper even works well with the new Epson photo
printers select the transparency option.
In general let the ink dry for about 10 minutes or longer if the image has a
lot of black area. This is important to allow the clear spray or fixative to
adhere well to the film.
Before sliding the decal off the paper using water you must seal the inkjet
ink on the special coating by using clear spray or decal fixative.
If using Krylon spray then follow the instructions on the spray can.
If you are using the CLEAR Decal fixative
The pour small amount over the image (the decal) and let it sit on the decal
for about 10 seconds and gently move the puddle around, then wait few seconds.
Without applying any pressure on the decal, use the foam pad to move the
excess fluid off and over the edge of the paper onto a piece of cardboard and
discard, leaving an even coating on the image. Let dry for at least 8 hours or
overnight. A second coat may not be needed at all.
Applying the decal.
Cut out the image with scissors. Dip in warm water (not hot). The paper will
roll up and then straighten out again.
When the film starts to loosen from the paper, place the paper on the
substrate to be decorated, and slide the paper from under the decal.
Work out air bubbles with decal squeegee and let dry. It is important to
remove all water and air.
DO NOT cut out the decal first and then apply the solution as the edges of
the paper will absorb the liquid, making it impossible later to slide the decal
off the paper.
